Used Rear Axle Assembly for Medium-Duty Trucks
Complete rear axle assemblies — ratio-matched by axle tag, housing to hubs, so the truck tracks and the speedometer’s right.
- Used OEM part
- Tested before shipping
- 30-day warranty
- Ships to the lower 48
- Refundable core

A howling ring-and-pinion, a chunked spider gear, or a housing bent in a curb strike can take a truck off the road for weeks if you wait for a rebuild. A complete used OEM rear axle — housing, carrier, axles, hubs and brakes as pulled — bolts in as a unit and gets the truck earning again. The catch is ratio and spec: get either wrong and you’ve bought a speedometer error and a driveline that fights itself.
We match rear axles by the axle tag and VIN — ratio, GAWR, brake type, ABS tone rings and track width — from running donor trucks, checked for gear noise and bearing play, covered by our warranty. Axles ship freight to any commercial address in the lower 48; a refundable core charge may apply.
Signs your rear axle assembly has failed
- Howl or whine that changes with load (accelerating vs. coasting)
- Clunk on take-off or in reverse from a worn carrier or spider gears
- Metal in the differential fluid
- Bent housing — wheel out of true, or tire wear after a curb or pothole hit
- Wheel-bearing roar or play at the hub
- Pinion or axle seals that won’t stay sealed
Before you order
- Send your VIN and a photo of the axle tag (ratio, model and build) — the ratio must match the front axle on 4x4 trucks and the ECM/TCM calibration.
- Note brake type (hydraulic disc vs. drum), ABS, and whether you need a full-float axle with hubs and brakes attached.
- Replace the differential fluid and pinion seal on installation and torque the hub nuts/wheel bearings to spec.
- Have the driveshaft angles and u-joints checked after installation.

Is a used Rear Axle Assembly tested before it ships?
Yes. Every rear axle assembly we sell is pulled from a running donor truck, inspected and tested before it ships.
How do I get a quote for a used Rear Axle Assembly?
Use the form on this page or call us. Share your truck and VIN and we confirm exact fitment, then call you back with a price in about 30 seconds during business hours — or email it if we can’t reach you.
Is a used Rear Axle Assembly covered by a warranty?
Yes, we stand behind this rear axle assembly with our warranty. Exact terms are confirmed on your quote.
Do you ship a used Rear Axle Assembly nationwide?
Yes — we ship to all 48 contiguous states with tracked delivery. Most parts arrive in 3–7 business days; engines, transmissions and axles ship freight and typically arrive in 5–10.
What’s included with a rear axle assembly?
Complete: housing, ring and pinion, carrier, axle shafts, hubs and brake hardware as pulled from the donor. Tell us if you need brakes and ABS sensors included.
Does the gear ratio have to match?
Yes — we read it off your axle tag or VIN. A mismatch throws speedometer and ABS/TCM calibration off and, on 4x4 trucks, binds the driveline.
How does a rear axle ship?
Freight, on a pallet, to a commercial address or a shop with a forklift or liftgate — typically 5–10 business days anywhere in the lower 48. A refundable core charge may apply.
