NOx sensor codes — P2200, P2201, P229F, P22A0 and their cousins — are the most common way a modern diesel truck ends up in a derate. There are two sensors (before and after the SCR catalyst), they’re not interchangeable, and new ones from the dealer are priced like electronics because they are: each has its own control module on the harness.
We supply used OEM NOx sensors from running donor trucks, matched to your engine, model year and sensor position, tested and covered by our warranty — a practical way to keep a truck legal and out of derate without a four-figure dealer bill.
Signs your nox sensor has failed
- Check-engine light with NOx sensor circuit, range or performance codes (P2200/P2201 inlet, P229F/P22A0 outlet, or make-specific equivalents)
- SCR efficiency codes (P20EE) after the catalyst has been ruled out
- DEF derate countdown with normal DEF pressure and level
- Sensor connector or module showing heat, corrosion or a chafed harness
- Codes that return immediately after a forced regen or reset
Before you order
- Tell us which position — sensor 1 (inlet, before the SCR) or sensor 2 (outlet, after) — and send your VIN and engine. They are not interchangeable.
- Inspect the harness and the sensor’s module for chafing and heat damage; a cut wire produces the same code.
- Rule out an exhaust leak ahead of the sensor and a failed SCR catalyst before replacing a sensor for an efficiency code.
- After installation clear codes, complete a drive cycle or SCR reset per the manual, and confirm the fault doesn’t return.

Frequently asked questions
Which trucks do you stock a used NOx Sensor for?
Isuzu NPR, NQR and NRR; Ford F-450 and F-550; Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 4500HD/5500HD plus Kodiak and TopKick C4500; Ram 4500 and 5500; and Mitsubishi Fuso Canter FE125–FE180. Pick your truck below or send us your VIN.
Is a used NOx Sensor tested before it ships?
Yes. Every nox sensor we sell is pulled from a running donor truck, inspected and tested before it ships.
How do I get a quote for a used NOx Sensor?
Use the form on this page or call us. Share your truck and VIN and we confirm exact fitment, then call you back with a price in about 30 seconds during business hours — or email it if we can’t reach you.
Is a used NOx Sensor covered by a warranty?
Yes, we stand behind this nox sensor with our warranty. Exact terms are confirmed on your quote.
Do you ship a used NOx Sensor nationwide?
Yes — we ship to all 48 contiguous states with tracked delivery. Most parts arrive in 3–7 business days; engines, transmissions and axles ship freight and typically arrive in 5–10.
Which NOx sensor do I need?
Inlet (sensor 1) sits before the SCR catalyst; outlet (sensor 2) after it. The code tells you: bank 1 sensor 1 vs. sensor 2. Send us the code and we’ll match position and part number.
Are used NOx sensors reliable?
Sensors from low-mileage running donors are tested before shipping and covered by our warranty. It’s a proven way to end a derate for a fraction of dealer list — and we’ll be honest with you if your code points somewhere else.
Do I need programming?
No programming — but codes must be cleared, and the SCR system may need a reset or drive cycle to pass its self-test.
